Drumheller, AB (2017)
Years away from conventional routine
A fugitive from monotony
Bits by bits, lethargy is a new comfort
And pleasure is an unaffordable luxury
Three and a half hours into the morning
A glimpse of foreign sceneries
In an already less traveled path
A strange hinderland in the backyard of the town
Like some offbeat tunes in a melancholy ballad
Is it Elysium? Is it the void above?
Is it a transient utopia for those seeking solitude?
Walking barefoot onto the pale sand dunes, I murmured
Wondered if it didn’t wish to be found
Else to bury its ancient fortune
Along with its peculiar charm.
