Jasper, AB (2016)
For a split second, I was made aware
of how temporary all things we had to suffer
and in the following morning, they would be no longer;
Beyond the tail of lights, it stopped to matter
Washed away in the shivering turquoise water
In that moment, I swore
I wanted nothing but a chance to surrender
to a Higher Power, a mighty enabler
for granting me a chance to witness such grandeur
nowhere else could I encounter
Next to the sluggish lake I ponder,
“Would this become my last time ever?”
